Re: 1967 Flying V

THIRTEEN GRAND for a guitar without docs or serials and NO.BRANDED.HARDWARE.ANYWHERE, past a flimsy truss rod cover?

Stickers on plain baseplate pickups missing covers that allegedly once were there, and a printed piece of plastic, ~wow~.

Burden of proof is entirely on the seller, they aint offerring any to be seen... like, SERIOUSLY, why do THEY think it's a gibson at all, OR specifically from 1967??? Perfectly valid question, an expensive guitar from 1967 makes the original buyer likely at least 70 years old today, so easily >50% chance they're not around or cant remember clearly if they are...and thats in the unlikely single-owner scenario.

PS i was born in a country where EVERY mercedes had an AMG badge.Apparently some of them even believed they had the real thing (usually not).

The Maestro doesn't look like a factory job. It is vintage, but probably from another guitar.

I've never seen a '67 V with a stop tail. Also on page two there are pictures with the Maestro removed. It's possible that the vibrato isn't original, but it definitely left the factory with one.

As I have said, for anyone who ACTUALLY knows about this era guitar, there are plenty of clues.

You are just not one of them.

Re: 1967 Flying V

Adieu, thanks but you really dont seem to know anything about 67 flying V's. None of your statements are making sense and others have been rather kind to you ... why not accept that kindness and learn from them?

Nothing on the thing is original, and the wood looks iffy even by 3-digit price standards.

And if it IS a gibson plank just with unoriginal-everything, including frets and fretboard???? That kinda it makes it worth $500 tops.

Its the vee equivalent of a partscaster

^ You are trying for the 'look like a complete fool' now, rather than just partial:lmao:

Google challenge: find me 5 authenticated Vees from that period with pale fretboards and crooked/non-parallel grain on the front face.

I know my wood, and i know a thing or three about building replica/tribute guitars.

You can look at lines and see period-correct routs or cuts somewhere till the cows come home, any woodshop can replicate that much. It costs THEM a whopping $20-25 / hour.

If hardware and wood dont match, lines DONT MATTER. Not on anything selling for $250+

Adieu is the kind of guy that walks into an open house where the place is 500k and starts ragging on how it should be 100k and rants on and on about how his McDonalds check should be the same as the Doctors salary next door. As he is shuffled out the door he screams "its the sellers burden to prove this house is worth 500k!"

Meanwhile everyone around is a learning experience, but you cant learn with your yap flapping. You can demonstrate your lack of knowledge though.

I'd love to buy that guitar for $500. However insulting people and being an asshat generally does not result in such deals.

Re: 1967 Flying V

PS. Now could the wood professor who speaks of "portions of a board" being flatsawn (lol) and has given exactly ONE like in his entire 6000 message presence here, as well as the self-professed fanboi who is strangely SOLELY here for this particular thread, kindly REFRAIN from personal attacks?

He didnt attack you. He was quite patient. Unfortunately, you made a whole bunch of statements that PROVE without doubt you do not know what you are talking about. I mean ... REALLY dont know. Please, let it go and enjoy your evening.
