Re: 1994 40th Anniversary Fender American Standard Stratocaster

94-97 were really good years for US Fenders, and I had several from that time.

To be honest, I don't like Sperzels or the metal nut. Regular tuners and plastic had a more organic sound. Also, stay with a plastic pickguard. The aluminum ones changed the tone a bit.

I think you'll dig it. Just figure out which pickups you like, and it's a keeper. Even the stock pickups weren't terrible, but with a swimming pool route, you can do anything you want.

Since you want Full Distortion, I recommend a tremspaced Custom if you go HSS.
There's always the possibility you'll need to flip the magnet around if the 2nd position turns into a nasally honk. And if the 2nd position isn't hum cancelling, pull the pickguard off again and swap the neck for the middle.

Re: 1994 40th Anniversary Fender American Standard Stratocaster

OK, the guitar Arrived.
it s SO SO SO SO SO SWEET.
the neck is simply amazing. do you guys, remember that blue fender reissue 1950 that i have? the neck is similar, just with THICKER Frets. i think they are jumbo the ones on that japanese fender were Meddium or small frets.
it came without the pickups. just the s-s-s- pickguard. i need to get a new pickguard routed for H-H .
a friend of mine is crafting a Wooden Pickguard.with birdseye maple top. and brazilian wood called Pau Marfim, the equivalent to Maple.

It Will Smoke!

Re: 1994 40th Anniversary Fender American Standard Stratocaster

Put in a Custom/Jazz Bridge in the neck. Try the Jazz bridge in neck sometime, and you'll never turn back.

Re: 1994 40th Anniversary Fender American Standard Stratocaster

Interesting stuff
i never played the custom but, i ownded a custom custom(my favorite) and a custom 5(worst pickup)
and i had a jazz neck in the neck but didnt like it
it was the combo on that old fender japan reisseu 50's i had
im not sure if i can afford any pickup acquisition right now.
but, im still looking for MY TONE at duncan territory

For The Bridge , full size humbucker, Tight Bass, Crushing Middles(no scooping AT ALL) and Open Singing Highs. Moderated to HIGH output.
Eq 4- 7- 8
Q:)
Any Tips ??!?

Duncan Distortion is moderately tight, has mids (high mids), and is high output. The EQ curve is sth like that, B<M<T.

Re: 1994 40th Anniversary Fender American Standard Stratocaster

Duncan distortion has no Middles . im talkign about Middles middles no high middles.

Re: 1994 40th Anniversary Fender American Standard Stratocaster

hej guys, another thing
i was just checkign and this fender a kinda 4 or 5 piece body. is this normal in a American Standard USA made?!?!

Re: 1994 40th Anniversary Fender American Standard Stratocaster

It's probably 3-piece. Mine is. Apparently, mine doesn't have the veneer because I can see seams where the paint has started to dip in to them a little. As long as those pieces are good pieces, once they are glued and clamped tightly together, they are one piece AFAIC. One-piece bodies are a lot of hype, IMO. Not every one-piece is great sounding, just like not every multi-piece sounds bad.

Re: 1994 40th Anniversary Fender American Standard Stratocaster

For sure.
im just checking if i didnt get a Fake Fender guitar etc
q:)
the body weights a Lot . q:p

Re: 1994 40th Anniversary Fender American Standard Stratocaster

Should be roughly 7.5 lbs. or so. It's a nice comfortable weight.

I have another Strat, an import w/ large headstock. Just took pics the other day but they're not online yet except for a couple from last weekend's gig. Here's one of them.

I also have a Star body from the 80's and a Jackson style neck for it. It's not assembled yet. Needs some work done first.

Is this enough? LOL
