Ran across this one yesterday and did a little trading for it. All top notch parts and "Ibanez Correct"...'99 JEM 7DBK MIJ Neck w/Gotohs, DiMarzios but not yet sure which specific models although I'm guessing "EVOs" or "Breeds", Original Edge Trem, Alder or Poplar Destroyer Body in Blue Swirl (poss. a Perle from eBay)...haven't set it up to my preferences yet but seems like it'll be a fun player and I love that it's a Swirl finish.

Thanks! Played it briefly when I ran across it but the strings were literally sitting on the fretboard. Started working on adjusting things last night but didn't have time to fully dive into it. Hopefully this weekend.

hmm this low action could mean that the previous owned was a shredder and was taking great care of the axe, fingers crossed !

Ha! I think it meant he didn't know how to set up the guitar and gave up on the Edge! ;) I don't think it will take much to get it playing nicely; just need to sit down and restring, adjust the Edge and DiMarzios, etc. Neck is nice and straight, pocket angle looks good and strings line up dead center on the fretboard so I'm hopeful it'll be a player.

Hoping so! I've literally been playing nothing but the RG570FM Mutt since I got it back. :)

Thx! Should be a fun one and not much to do other than a little tweaking.

Re: 1999 Ibanez JEM 7/Destroyer Blue Swirl w/Original Edge

Found where the person I bought it from got it and he sold it to me for half price. Score!!! Also found specs and pics.

Custom Made Ibanez Jem Destroyer. Blue Swirl Custom Paint Job on a Custom Made Alder Ibanez Destroyer Body. Jem Wizard Neck with Bubinga Skunk stripe. Ibanez Pro Edge Low Profile Tremelo...Blue Dimarzio Evolution Pickups. Pro Wiring Job and complete with a Pro Set Up and fret Polish. Plays as good as it looks. Signs of Playing wear and a nick or two nothing serious. There is a hole in the back see pic...looks like a strap button . Low action frets nicely and tremelo is smooth. A cool one of a kind custom Ibanez !! The parts alone are worth over a grand...not with the custom paint job...

That looks like a fun guitar! I like how the hardware finish and pickup rings blend in with the finish and it seems to match really nice. I was hoping they were DiMarzio Breeds, and I was also hoping you didnt like them. :)

Re: 1999 Ibanez JEM 7/Destroyer Blue Swirl w/Original Edge

Looking at this guitar, and also maybe the Universe, are the only occasions where I'd say rosewood looks better than maple. Just raw beauty.

Re: 1999 Ibanez JEM 7/Destroyer Blue Swirl w/Original Edge

Those are good pickups too and Ive had 3 or 4 of them over the years. I cant remember if I had them in an Alder body though... My fav guitar I had an Evolution in was a '91 Charvel Avenger, that thing really did good for what it was. I think I had that in D standard, but man thats been 15yrs atleast...

Wonder if he moved the strap button to cure it being neck heavy?

I've become a Maple Board Snob the last year or so. I just liked the whole package on this one as soon as I saw it then picked it up to give it an overall look. Guy was selling it at MGR and I asked him about specs; he was like "you interested" and I said "if the price is right". Of course MGR low balled so I hung around and we worked something out in the parking lot after he walked out.

I'm looking forward to setting it up and trying it out for sure. Let you know my thoughts on the EVOs once I get to try 'em out.

Strap button is on the back on the neck heel; took that off as soon as I got it home as I'll mount one in the regular spot on the top edge of the body like on my Iceman. This thing is not in any way neck heavy so should be way better with a more traditional strap button or DiMarzio Blue Swirl Clip Lock Strap on it.

You dreamed that guitar into existence didn't you LOL

Nice, good luck with it!

Re: 1999 Ibanez JEM 7/Destroyer Blue Swirl w/Original Edge

We'll see how much of a dream it is soon. Ha Ha! Got it tuned up and played it a bit; like the EVOs initially.
