My Godin has a two point floating bridge. I adjusted the bridge height way back when I got it. I did it under string tension, the way I read it in the fender manual, since godin doesn't have it's own tech pages, I figured why not use the fender method. Boy did it cause problems. The bridge floats on two posts/pivot points that the the knife edge comes in contact with. These screws have burs/lines/marks/(insert proper adjective) on them that cause the bridge to not sit properly giving a plink sound sometimes when using the bar.
Tried lubricating the knife edges, contact area of the posts, nothing. Tried locating replacement posts, no one has them around me, one store can order them. I'm not sure if they will fit in the hole, may require drilling the space wider.
How do you guys fix these? Buy the replacement part online or fix the screw/post/stud using a dremel tool sander/polisher or something?
I'm really seeing the need of having a dremel tool at home for various stuff, I might just end up getting one.
