How much would you pay for this guitar? The current bid, including shipping, stands at $304.40. It's being auctioned by your buddies at Gibson Dependable. Serial Number: 015570589. It includes: truss rod, truss rod cover, pickguard, pickup mounting rings, nut, frets, control covers, strap knobs & ground wire. I'm kinda jonesing for it but I don't wanna get ripped off. So, again, let's assume you have the electronics with which to dress it up and make it play, how much would you pay? Les Paul body and neck.jpg

Re: 2007 Les Paul Studio body & neck in good condition

Personally no more than $350 but thats pushing it. The $304 seems good considering everything.

Re: 2007 Les Paul Studio body & neck in good condition

So, what would it be worth as a never disassembled, complete guitar? The neck and body are worth no more than $300 of that figure or are you basing your assessment on the fact that it IS disassembled?

Re: 2007 Les Paul Studio body & neck in good condition

If I wanted that color and that year, I'd pay no more than $300 shipped. Wait; is it a Faded? In that case, I wouldn't even pay that.

Re: 2007 Les Paul Studio body & neck in good condition

Yes it's been disassembled for one and two it's a 2007 studio with no hardware. If it was bone stock probably $700 but thats pushing it maybe 500 or 600.

Re: 2007 Les Paul Studio body & neck in good condition

Seems like it would be cheaper to buy a new one than reassemble that one.

Re: 2007 Les Paul Studio body & neck in good condition

I was going to bid on one of these a few weeks ago. After all the parts needed, it approached the price of a complete studio.

Re: 2007 Les Paul Studio body & neck in good condition

It is worth what you are willing to pay. If you have killer pickups for it, and want a Les Paul that you wish to keep for the long haul; go for it. If you plan to ever sell it you will likely lose money. Remember Gibson people love "original case with all the candy". I'm guessing that's not included here. That will hurt you at re-sale time.

The thing is, if you have killer pickups for it already . . . you could just go to a store, try a bunch and buy a great studio. Then swap the pickups. Then sell the Gibby pickups on ebay. All for about the same price as reassembling one of these stripped ebay guitars. I don't see the appeal of going the extra risky way and buying the stripped body.

Same here, you get to pick out the Studio that plays the best to you and you don't have to worry about damage in shipping as well as the fact that the eBay item may have non-disclosed issues...

Re: 2007 Les Paul Studio body & neck in good condition

It is worth whatever YOU would pay for it. What it is worth to me is irrelevant. That may be my ultimate mojotone project body ever. I may be a cheap mofo.

That said: Price of hardware ($250?) + Guitar = total cost.

At around $600, I can find this already assembled. So maybe 350/400 max.

This is true–the buyer determines fair market value for non-regulated items.

Re: 2007 Les Paul Studio body & neck in good condition

Unless you already have all the parts laying around and wouldn't have to buy a thing, I'd pass.

Probably needs a case too.

Re: 2007 Les Paul Studio body & neck in good condition

After you get everything you need, the price you will have spent will be VERY close to buying the whole guitar already assembled.. but much like everything in the world, the value is totally based on what you are willing and wanting to put into it.. if you want it, pull the trigger... if you're uneasy about it, steer clear..

Re: 2007 Les Paul Studio body & neck in good condition

I honestly wouldn't pay more than $250 TOPS for it. That looks like a studio faded, and I've seen complete, used faded LPs for $500 and even $450. $300 for such a guitar without anything is a ripoff IMHO.

It didn't even take me 2 minutes to find a 2010 LP Faded for $460. Sure it isn't BIN, but I think it still proves my point.

Re: 2007 Les Paul Studio body & neck in good condition

And of course, I was assuming:

Pups: 100
Controls: $50
Tuners: $50
TOM: $50

That's rough…I know we all have a tendency to spend WAY more than that on a pickup. And tuners can get way expensive too.

Re: 2007 Les Paul Studio body & neck in good condition

Final price, shipping included (and, no, I was not the winning bidder): $404.40. I guess Gibson Dependable will keep on marching along as long as folks are forking out that kind of dough.

Re: 2007 Les Paul Studio body & neck in good condition

A while back Stratosphere was selling faded black Les Paul Studios mint, but gutted (no electronics or hardware) and I wanted one bad. I thought it would look cool if I had it pinstriped, like Billy Gibbons pinstriped LP

But in the end I was able to trade for an almost new faded brown, with case.

I ended up modding that guitar with new tuners, pickups, and vintage wiring. It made more sense dollar wise.
