3 mini toggles - full on - split - off

Help,

Can't find a diagram or a topic on this. Probably out there, just can't seem to find it.

I have a cool rails and a lil59 in a strat and want to use mini toggles (on-off-on) to control each pickup.

up - single coil (split)
middle - off
down - full humbucking

How should I run the wires?

I assume that I should run the green and silver to ground and the black to output on the volume pot.

How do I use the switch to get the above results ?

using a DPDT

none------- 1 4 ---connected to 6
red/white---2 5 --- output to volume pot
Ground----- 3 6 --- black from pickup

will this do it ? or will I get some hum, ghosting , etc.. ?

Thanks

yup, that will do. dont forget to ground the green and bare wire.

and yeah you'll get hum like standard single coil when you're on split mode.

That's a great switching system for humbucker guitars... I had my schecter wired similarly (or at least producing similar results), but with a switch... full/parallel/coil split. or in some order like that...

even threw in a phase switch ;)

You should be aware that the split tone on those single-sized humbuckers isn't very useful (generally too thin and lacking in frequency response), unlike a full-sized humbucker. Parallel is nice though, so I would recommend series/parallel switches instead of series/parallel/split.

parallel creates a tele like sound... it's cool.

it'll still create like a 5 or 6 ohm sc when split... so there'll prob. be a big volume drop when you switch. I have no clue how well a lil 59 splits... but plenty of SCs sound decent that are 4 or 5 ohms. but I really couldn't tell you what it's like to split one of those things.
