Kickass! Thanks for posting these!

I like the Orange and the DSL the best.

Re: 30-40Watt combos - nice demos here.

Thank you Jack -

everyone/anyone : what is this cool sort of 'snarl" the Orange has ? Is it part of the character of all Oranges? Would a higher wattage Orange give a similar feel?
Or is it the speaker they use in that 30-watt.
(i know all parts are related),
but I'd like to know if I was hearing things right or not !
I love that Orange's sound in the chorded bits of the Hi-Gain clip. Its actually sort of a Raging snarl, a bit angry. Nice

This snarl you are talking about, do you hear it in this clip too ?

I love my TH30 but I really didn't care for the tone he got out of it in the high-gain portion...

Wow!! What a great post, thanks SirJack.

Every amp sure had it's own voice and character.

In the clean setting, I thought all of them sounded very nice. Very different but really good cleans. I have to say that the DSL sounded very Hi Fi with a broader tonal range than the others. It was full and rich and sparkley.

In the driven and crunch settings the Orange sounded very muffled/wet blanketish. The others sounded good, but again I think the DSL excelled.

In high gain, the Haze and the Laney sounded a bit muddy and the Blackstar's lows were a bit muffled (mids and highs were good). I think that the Orange had it's best performance in the high gain. The DSL was very articulate and crisp, maybe a bit too bright though (just my personal taste).

Overall I'd say that the Marshall JCM2000 was THE superb performer. I love that sound. I have to say that of all the amps I've owned, the Vintage Modern was far and away the best sounding clean/crunch/overdiven amp. I'd love to hear a comparison just between a Vintage Modern and a JCM2000.

I'm really gassing for another Marshall. Crap!!! (I can't afford any more stuff right now).

I was rather impressed by how well the Peavey held its own - I thought it might have been a little over-shadowed by the others, but it sounded very usable.

Hoss: believe me when I say that the TH30 is indeed amazing... the sheer versatility of it is quite amazing, especially when you consider how dead-simple the control layout is.

I second this. I've loved it every minute I've had it. Plenty of tonal variety from so few controls...

They're still new... wait a year or so and they'll pop up on the used market for a fraction of what they're new right now (1000$ here in Canaduh) so what 6-700$...? maybe less? Your time will come!

Got mine for $799 used not too long ago. Still have it, by the way. Recording with it this weekend, actually.
