Yeah, I think it's interesting that the EVH seemed to be either at the top of people's list or at the bottom.

It's funny I gravitated towards the EVH.

This has made me very interested in a Custom Custom

OK so I forgot about this but went ahead and gave a listen before I checked to see what was what.

Honestly some of the ones I liked clean or for chords sounded worse for leads, or vice versa. But overall I voted

Heh....figures...I effin hate that Custom 5, lol. Only one guitar did it ever really do anything for me (a Gibby V) with 300K pot)

And the SH5 was always my fave in my younger days. The CC was the one where I knew the cleans bugged me but I liked the gainy stuff. That was the big problem I had with it in my Hamer Monaco... cleans suck.

I'm not surprised, that the Custom was my favorite. However, I was quite shocked, to find out that the EVH was the one that I really didn't like at all.

That's kind of tripped me out as well, but at the same time, I started thinking that it's also the only pickup that wasn't in a Les Paul. I don't really know what that means, but I figured I'd throw that out there.

I would like to try some out in a Les Paul, but I don't want to take them out of my Wolfgang to try it.

I am feeling slightly smug about placing the Custom Five at the top of my list. I am trying to decide on what bridge/Treble pickup to install in my Hamer XT Sunburst. I already swapped out the stock covered '59 for an open zebra PGn. The covered JB could soon be making way for a zebra Custom Five.

I've only seen this thread just now, this is pretty cool!! I was thinking of putting something from the Custom family in my EC1000, and this helps a bunch. Thanks Jolly!!

hard for me to rank them, but on the cleans I like 1 & 5; on the dirty stuff I prefer 3 & 5, but 4 is nice too
