72 Fender Thinline Reissue (Coil Split?)

My son just purchased a MIM Thinline reissue. It has two of the Fender humbuckers and the two knob (vol/tone) set up. He wants me to put in one push/pull knob to split both coils at once. I'm comfortable doing this ... have done to Tele type guitars with Vintage stacks.

However, not familiar with side-by-side coil splits ... especially these Fender humbuckers. Did not find any schematics for this with a quick search.

1) Anyone have a link to schematics showing this?

2) Anyone had experience with a coil split in a Fender humbucker ... did it perform well?

Is that the big arse broadbucker pickups? They confuse me too..i want to turn mine into a p-90/phat cat ish thing

Yeah ... the one with 3 screws on each side. Big pickup. That's it.

Thought so...good luck with that..i think Rio Grande are the only guys who do after market stuff for that ,s o you should give them an email...other then that meh i have no idea
