78 vs Brobucker

Always flippin pickups, so much fun and always educational.

I love the Brobucker, but finding them used is challenging.
I do see more than a few used 78s listed for sale, but wondered what the difference was between the 78 and Brobucker...

I would be interested in the 78 but not at custom shop prices. I have a Brobucker. I won't get rid of it, but it never manages to stay in anything either. The degaused mag might have been a little too much with the 9k wind. Always seems a touch wooly to my ear

When you say the brobucker is woolly what do you mean?

IME the 78 is like a Pearly Gates with the bass rolled off and a Brobucker is like a Seth with the mid peak pushed up from the honk range into the chime range, and the Q widened a little bit, not quite as wide as an A2P, but wider than a Seth. Also a little bit more output.
