80s Hard Rock/glam Metal Tone

Re: 80s Hard Rock/glam Metal Tone

Aphex Aural Exciter was another version that was in common use.

And of course, dare I say it? Perhaps quietly... Scholz Rockman

Why quietly? All people of true taste and discernment love a good Rockman.

They threw the best parties in their practice space. That was a great time to be around Boston Music, Extreme, Spread Eagle, In the Pink, Tin Pan Alley, MASS, the list goes on.

That "time" was a great time for music pretty much everywhere, even in Raleigh, NC the scene was great and full of really good bands.

Check out Amptweaker , they are made by James Brown, he's the guy who worked with Eddie to make the 5150 and he's the godfather of tone.

Re: 80s Hard Rock/glam Metal Tone

I suggest a more holistic approach to the 80s Glam tone . -after the Super Strat with Duncan Invaders, a Tube Screamer into Rack mounted Multi Fx unit including Flange, Phase, Chorus, Harmonizer, Reverb into a Marshall stack -it also requires hair, makeup, and parachute pants. -otherwise you are never going to nail the tone.

Not quite.... not Invader-S, plural

An Invader (or Hotrail or Distortion) plus 1 or 2 single coils

Re: 80s Hard Rock/glam Metal Tone

Correct answer is SuperD or JB

And the singles were just there for show

Re: 80s Hard Rock/glam Metal Tone

Correct answer is the single coils were for the obligatory Metal Love Ballad required on each record.... :lmao:
I'm fairly certain they just played "clean" using their bridge humbuckers
