I've seen a few people here who seem to be unsatisfied by the EMG 81. Let me tell you, I have dual 81s in my ESP SV Standard, and it's purely K-I-L-L-E-R. Both for distorted and for clean. It's one of my favourite pickup combinations so far, along with the classic Duncan JB/59.
