i see this guitar from the" HK Yahoo Aution"
"It is a Gibson SG Eletric guitar . It is over 9 years , still work and good ! Red and Black in colour . the serial no. is 91786496 . Better that new gibson ! I wanna buy a new guitar so I sell it . Any Gibson lover? $4000 can fast trade ! Can try before buy !"

as it just cost about $us 500
and he accepts to exchange with my epiphone sg400 custom if i add some money

so do u thing it's worth to own this old guitar?

I think its wierd that he wanna sell off a sg , states that he wants to buy a new guitar and accepts ur sg400 custom? doesnt seem to make sense to me

thats a Gibson SG Special faded. one of the lower end (if not the lowest) Gibson SG.

most probably a fake. exchane a Gibson SG special for a Epi G400 and money? nobody would do that. check his credential if you can.

I think someone ought to check the serial number somewhere..
I agree that lloks like a worn & faded SG, and I don't think there were any 9 years ago..

dudes, the Auction is in Hong Kong. Their main language is Cantonese.

haha, sorry for that. I am asking if it worths to exchange with my epi g400 custom( i have to add some $)

the seller has mentioned that the serial no. is 91786496
i don't know if it's a fake guitar or really real


again, sorry for that because of my poor english skill.

that's pretty obvious. ;)

Basically, to sum it up, he says its 9 years old, but the model pictured came out 3 years ago. I'd make him take actual pictures of the guitar, though even thats not proof of a genuine product.

It smells like a rat to me.

Based on the serial number given, it's a 1996 model built on the 178 day (June 26th) but am unsure as to where by the 496 code. 001-499 are acoustic guitars built in the Montana facility. It could have been built in Kalamazoo.

Ask for pictures from the seller and be sure to ask for a good clear one of the serial number.
