For the last few years I've been making due with my 2555 and using my guitar's volume or a volume pedal for a semi-clean sound. Lately my band has started writing more material that requires a really good clean sound (synth-era Rush influenced) and my 2555 isn't cutting it for clean. I'm not a big fan of multi-channel amps, and I love my OD sound, so a different amp is out of the question.
Luckily I scored an H&K Edition Tube 20 last week and it has an incredible clean tone (every bit as good as my old Triamp Mk. I), so now I need an A/B box. I won't be using both amps at the same time, so I don't necessarily need the ability to do so. My primary concern is that it won't load down my guitar as my brother tried out a Radial Big Shot to switch his 2203 and Mesa .50 cal, and it was like throwing a blanket over both amps. I know my best option would be to just cough up the $200 for a Switchbone, but I don't really want to spend that much. Does anyone have any ideas for an A/B box that will let me switch between these two amps without loading down my signal?
Thanks
