A couple interesting Wayne (Charvel) guitars

I was looking through the Wayne guitars that're currently available (not that I can afford one). Just wondering if they were doing anything close to the MetalliTele I was kinking around.

This is their in stock page: http://www.wayneguitars.com/in_stock.html

I kind of like this tiger finish one:

They have a couple of these snakeskin guitars. Covered with real snakeskin. This is my favorite one:

I'm not real crazy about the peghead shape they're using lately. Must be because of pressure from Fender.

Love the tiger-stripe, not so sure about the snakeskin...

That'd be my choice too. I just thought it was kind of interesting that they used real snake skin. Seems to be a clear coat over it.

The tiger one is kind of stunning.

Re: A couple interesting Wayne (Charvel) guitars

I'm completely the other way around. I love the snakeskin and not the tiger.

The snakeskin one's only $3500! I'd take a $3500 Wayne over a $3500 Fender or Gibson any old day. Still too rich for my blood though.

This is the one I was trying to find again earlier. I kind of like this bound top:

The back's ash, and can't compare.

it's not bound...which makes it even cooler to me...it's hand pinstriped by Michael Charvel (who does all the wayne paint) around the edge. my Wayne was like that and i always liked that touch instead of using binding.

Thanks. guess it even says that in the description, but I gotta admit, I was only looking at pictures! Yeah, Michael Charvel's doing some great stuff with paint. I'd love to get my hands on some of his work.

3,500 smackers ?!?!?!?!?!? A one pup floyd strat?!?!?!?!?!

It better effin play the solo's to round and round, lay it down, your in love and body talk- without me holding it!

Do you know how many pairs of really good Pythoin bootsd that would buy?

It's more than I've ever spent on a guitar!

I don't think the number of pickups are really that big a part of the costs when it comes to a Wayne guitar.

I kind of like this one that has 2 pickups (for only $3295.00):

They have some guitars that're significantly less expensive than that. Like this one ($2395.00):

I like the white one a lot actually.

I don't care if John Wayne made it. Totally uncalled for price. Makes Gibson look like a good price point company.

They're not for everyone.

Gibson probably builds more guitars in a day than Wayne Guitars builds all year.

nothing makes gibson look good as a company...nothing.

I dunno, i like the tone of a genuine 2.5" thick GLP, but the lack of tuning staility & the rediculous price are put-offs.

I like the Snakeskin Wayne guitar. Great effect, but the actual guitar sucks- no neck pickup= no tone!!!!!

I haven't played any of theirs, but so far I'm finding that guitars I put together with only a bridge pickup, have surprisingly good tone.

Pickup selection becomes rather critical. I am a little more limited about the amount of sounds I get, but with only one pickup, the guitars ring very well, so that's a good tradeoff. And when I'm playing a guitar with 2 pickups the vast majority of my time with the switch in the middle position, so personally, I don't lose much.

I have always added a tone control personally, which gives me a little bit of control. And most Wayne guitars don't seem to have that, but judging from the control cavity plates, there should be room to add one.

I doubt that I'll ever get to own a Wayne (actually, they're well within my credit limit) but I like a lot of the guitars they're building.

....tell that to Ed, I guess he screwed up the first six VH recordings that way.

Back on topic...the tiger stripe, is cool, but it would be nice to see a full shot of the neck on it. Didn't enyone else spot that sweet flame maple?

They do have a better view of the neck:

The views where they show the whole neck, that's a little harder to see.

Too bad they don't have better pictures for their website.
