A nice all-alone pup?

Sorry for making a new thread, but...

I decided to go with 1 pickup on my guitar at first. I'll add more later on. What's the best Seynour Duncan pickup and in wich position for acoustic/overdrive playing? Possibly a humbucker with a coil split? I play blues, rock'n'roll and hard rock. Mainly rythm. The guitar body is alder. The fretboard is rosewood.

Thanks,

Re: A nice all-alone pup?

I would've said something along the lines of a 59b or a JB would be a good lone pup for a guitar.

Re: A nice all-alone pup?

Lots of ppl in the review said JB had too much highs.

I also read that the '59b was pretty versatile, so I might go for that classy one. with a gold cover...

 <- Don't you just love that smiley :) It's like me selecting a pickup.

By the way, is the Potentiometer-coil-splitting a good replacement for a tone pot?
