A2 or A5 P90 in a Mahogany body / maple neck Tele

I have a custom made Tele deluxe with two humbuckers in it and want to tame it down with two humbucker size P90's for Blues type music .
I don't think you can get P90's to quack like regular single coils for blues but trying to get closer to that goal with the Tele I have .
I will be running it through a 100w Soldano with EVM12l loaded 4X12's similar to EC used back in the 90's without all the crazy rack gear though .
Would a Phat Cat P90 with an A2 mag sound good with this combo ?

Yes, the Phat Cat is a really bad ass single coil. It's kind of scooped like a strat pickup too. It will do bluesy sounds well. I don't know if you were asking about the Phat Cat or other pickups with A2 vs A5 but you can leave the A2s in and it will sound great. Or you can use A5s to give it more scoop and chime. I have A5/A6 in mine and love it. You can also use A8 in the bridge to boost output.

My favorite humbucker-sized P-90s are from GFS. I've been using the Mean 90s for at least a dozen years and love it. But for a little bit brighter tone with more bite, closer to a single coil sound, lately I've been using a lot of Dream 90s, from GFS. These Dream 90s will get you close to what you're looking for.

You also might have luck with 2 P-Rails. You get great P90 sounds with a bunch of other bonus sounds thrown in.

Thanks so much for everyone's input , I've decided to order some stock Phat Cats to start with and go from there .
I may also try some GFS pickups , they look to be well built with a lot of options .
