You would think that i would learn my lesson!!!

I had bought 2 or these prior to this one...both mint, closet queens....both played like crap!!!

I take a chance on this one...its been played, but not abused, and its a MONSTER!!!!

I'm talkin bout the Washburn Ace Frehley AF-40V!!!! These guitars were built to promote Ace's Frehleys Comet solo project in 1987....Ace was not a huge fan of these and rarely ever played one. They are pretty rare...you dont see them around much.

I'm a HUGE Ace fan...and i love these guitars...but they are not known for their playability. This one is bone stock, has a few battle scars, but overall is in really nice shape. The neck is a nice Med. C shape. Its 24 frets whick is kinds nice. The stock Washburn pickup is really hot...great for high gain.

Very light and well balacned. Im not sure on the wood? probably basswood?

I couldnt resist this one and i'm glad i picked it up....the price was right and its a great player!

Thanks for hooking me up Lisa!

Re: ACE is back and he told you so....

Ace must have been drunk when he signed off on those. Do they have the Washburn Wonderbar on them?

Re: ACE is back and he told you so....

Maybe he was sober...which to him would be like a normal person being drunk.

Re: ACE is back and he told you so....

I could've had one for a song maybe 15 years or so back but I passed, couldn't stand them.

It would have only been for collectible/Ace nutswinger reasons and I couldn't see me keeping it.

Looks like it is in great shape, have fun with it.

Re: ACE is back and he told you so....

Interesting oddity, never seen one before! I like how the fretboard is partially painted silver too.

Re: ACE is back and he told you so....

Back in the day, I thought Ace playing one of these was an abomination. Just like Kiss with hair cuts and playing Disco....

Looking back now, these are cool cuz they are rare and unique and the wonderbar was cool

That Washburn thing is that which should not have ever been and should not be mentioned. That said - I'm not a trem fan but dig the Wonderbar. It's one heavy solid mofo!

Cool piece of Nostalgia. Glad you dig it. I'll save my pennies for a Budokan.

I have to admit ACE would have looked great with that dean!:)

I WILL have another Tobacco Sunburst LP someday!

As for the Washburn, it's not a guitar I'd play (I personally couldn't pull it off looks wise) but as a collectible it's cool.

Right - so I get my Washburn AF-40 and demonstrate it by playing "Simple Man" by Skynyrd instead of Black Dimond....

Is it just me or is that wrong?
