Thats an interesting, and yet bizarre guitar. If I ever saw someone perform with one of those, I wouldn't say, "Hey, thats an interesting, old Martin." I'd say, "My God . . . I can't believe that moron butchered a Martin like that." :laugh2:

I always thought that is what he did. Learn sumthin' new every day.

Dean Markley makes a transducer, and it sticks beneath the strings beside the bridge. And they're only like $40.00, so it's actually a bargain, though I've heard the cords are really fragile.

I HATE that thing! i bought one to run my 12-string and wish that I would have just spent the extra few dollars on the soundhole model. The cord is not only fragile, but it gets in the way alot. I had to run it through an EQ pedal. Even though you can modify the tones by moving it to different spots in relation to the bridge, the mids ran over the bass and treble. The EQ allowed me to trim the tone to my tastes, and the end result was good. However, I borrowed the Woody from a friend, and that is a MUCH better product.

If you want to alter the tones, run it through the pedals. That way, you can have the clear tones and the "dirty" tones.

Hey guys,

I just got my Martin acoustic the other day, and I'm looking for a good pick up I can install without doing any mods to my guitar. Does anyone know what effects or pickup Kurt Cobain used for his Unplugged album? Thats the sound I'm trying to get when "plugged in".

I'm so putting P-90's and volume/tone knobs on the first acoustic i get....this WILL catch on and be the guitar tone of the 21st century, you wait and see.
