a used mesa series II single rectifier. you can get a very wide variety of tones out of that amp...i don't think it gets enough credit for what it can do. has exceptionally good cleans too. if you ever play one anytime soon, try using the vintage and raw modes on the lead channel, just to see what they can do. and of course there's the pushed mode on the clean channel, which can go anywhere from pretty much crystal clean, to AC/DC style crunch. and of course that's where the lead channel takes over.
not to mention, of course, that you have the choice of using 6L6 or EL34's. a used one could be found for around $800 or so, and that's pretty reasonable.
