ahhhh, TUBES!

tubes, this is new ground. i'm thinking el34s and a 5u4 tube rectifier. i'm going to buy a heartbreaker :fingersx: . i'm going for tubes that will give me a warm not too edgey sound. like i said this TOTALLY new ground. i'm using a head through a 2x12 3/4 back, with stock speakers.

el34's aren't usually thought of as "warm and not too edgy". If i you want a warmer, smoother sound, get a el84 or 5881 amp instead.

Warmer and smoother with EL84??????? How about warmer and smoother with 6L6s!!! I have heard some extremely warm EL34s too!!! I can't comment on 5881s since I am not familiar.

the heartbreaker can take el34s, 6l6s, or 6v6s

How about you get the amp first before deciding on new tubes? It sounds like you have no idea what you are talking about.
