Yes, you need to have signal passing thru the amp, otherwise you're just activating the heaters, and not really using the valves. I usually put a CD player thru the amp, and set my Hot Plate at 'Load' and let the amp play for a day or two.SoCalSteve said:I ordered some KT-77's myself - should be here Saturday. Yes on both questions - I've talk to Scott about em and I still use the Quick Rod. (You will have to pry it from my cold, dead hands!!)MikeF said:T.O., have you spoke with Scott Splawn? Heard he tried them and liked 'em, just liked the mullards better. Are you still using the Splawn?
