Am I Crazy for wanting to...

Re: Am I Crazy for wanting to...

Me, I'd definitely do it, if it was to buy TWO of 'em: then I could run dual output from my ME-50 and dual microphone live :D

Re: Am I Crazy for wanting to...

I'm praying that the Guitar Center Gods will smile down on my this afternoon, I'm drivin' over there to try and trade since my local shop didn't have any Blues Jr's.

Re: Am I Crazy for wanting to...

Not in my hot little hands yet... I traded the Blue Voodoo, but they had to ship a Blues Jr. in from Michigan, Should be here Tomorrow or Saturday, then you'll get the full verdict!

Re: Am I Crazy for wanting to...

Cool.... I've been considering one to use for bluesy hard rock and (with a pedal) metal. I'm curious to hear what you say.

Re: Am I Crazy for wanting to...

if the junior had a bigger cab it would be even better...i wonder how much it would cost to get a fatter 1x12 built to fit a Blues Jr chassis...or even a 2x12...hmmm?

Hoss: I'm gonna try wiring it to my Mesa/Boogie 2x12, that should be a fun little esperiment in tone! Stay tuned, I should hopefully have the Junior tomorrow!

You'll get to hear what I think of it tomorrow. UPS tried to deliver it today, but of course I'm at work, so I called 'em and they're holding it for me tomorrow, so tomorrow night sometime I'll try to peel myself away from it long enough to tell you about the sound.

For now, Look at my pedalboard:

Re: Am I Crazy for wanting to...

What Ibanez pedal is that? I HATED those pedals. When they first came out a few of my friends had 'em and they sssssuuuucked...they were all like weak-sounding digital fuzz tho, i can't even read the name of that effect with my crappy monitor.

Anyway i'm stoked to hear what you think of the BJ...i think Fender combo amps are gonna be the cool new thing in metal in the coming years. I was at Guitarget on Sunday with all the obligatory metal kids shreddin the 6505 stacks...keepin the volume knob at 1 or 2 and gettin a fizzy fart tone...i sat down with the Supersonic combo they had set up and dialed in a gnarly, growling tone no problem.

well this pedal definitely doesn't sssssssuck... It's a TS-7 Tubro Tube Screamer, set to sound like a TS-9, and it does. So it's basicly just another TS-9.

Re: Am I Crazy for wanting to...

It's happened. and Dang! It's amazing. I love it!!!

I used it through the stock 12" speaker first, but now I have it plugged into my Mesa/Boogie 2X12, giving it a fuller, darker sound. It's great. I'm gettin' all kinds of amazing tones right now with my pedals, and using the FAT switch as a boost (it's a GREAT boost). I'm very happy with it right now!!!

... and I'm gettin' a couple EMG SA's to put in the HM strat this weekend, so the tone just keepin' comin' and comin'!!! :)

Re: Am I Crazy for wanting to...

It's got amazing cleans for a single channel amp. I've got the master almost a quarter of the way up, and the volume up almost half way. I'm really diggin' it!

Re: Am I Crazy for wanting to...

Good choice! The Blue Voodoo is a good beginner amp for metalheads, but when you want to start exploring those slightly broken up tones and something a bit more "clean" oriented you definitely are looking at a Fender.

Fenders aren't gain machines, but with pedals, it's amazing just how much you can coax out of them. Have fun with it!

Re: Am I Crazy for wanting to...

If we're gonna do this, let's do it ALL the way: PRO JR! One volume, One tone and MOJO!!!!!!!!
