Amazing Tone!

I shall give you the precise formula for amazing tone.

I have almost 40 years experience in the field - includes playing guitar, playing live, owning/running 24 channel 3000W PA, building/modding guitars, building/modding tube amps, building/modding stomps, mixing, recording, engineering, tone testing, tone cloning, studying the greats, etc

Basically speaking (and for the layman), I have a PhD in tone (and I'm still learning new tricks).

Here are my highly experienced nuggets of tone widsom:

You'll need -

- a guitar (doesn't matter what brand)
- an amp (tube, but doesn't have to be)
- a speaker (doesn't matter what brand)
- a boost/OD or distortion pedal (doesn't matter what brand)
- add delay for more amazing tone (doesn't matter what brand)
- add trem for even more amazing tone (doesn't matter what brand)
- set all amp and pedal knobs to around "5" and leave them, if you attempt to tweak anything, you'll just get confused

Now you may be wondering why I didn't recommend any brands, well... the brands don't matter because it all sounds pretty much the same between them anyways

Finally, if you can't afford some of that gear listed, then just get a BOSS Metal Zone and go straight into the board.

:13:

Ooooh I like that. It sounds like options. Can you choose for me? Also, you say you are a doctor. I know a lot of doctors today that are a little off. Which kind are you? Are you the one or the other?

I love how the reverb drips in the right channel. You can only get that with a modern high-end digital model of an authentic tube-driven 1960s spring reverb unit. But it has to be one of the earliest ones with the blue opossum sticker on the inside bottom panel.

That Roth dude sings pretty good in that video. He's kinda cute too!

What about my cables. Which ones have the best toanz in them? Can somebody tell me what cable I need to sound like one of them there virtuosos types?

Whatever amp you get, make sure it says Marshall or Mesa, everything else is just a copy of a slo.
Only get a Peavey if you live where there are frequent hurricanes or earthquakes.

Dime the gain! Scoop the mids out. You only need mids for recording, not for playing anywhere else.

Hit it in the face with a ts9 clone volume 10 gain 2 tone to taste. Everyone who ever sounded good used a ts9 all other pedals suck!

Make sure you only ask the guys at "Guitar Sinner" about strings and picks and straps! Cuz only they have the training to know things.

That should do you good, then you can sound exactly like the rock star you want to sound exactly like. ...unless you want to sound like Dime.... Then only buy Randall and Dean stuff and only wear camo shorts cuz everything else sucks!

I’m glad you ask. You’re showing strong potential by your questions.

There are three types of cables:
- coily cables
- Monster cables
- bad cables

You can choose any of the top two categories.

Less than $80 per cable is a bit of a red flag.

And remember: the longer the better.

$80 is the bare minimum unless you don't care about your tone.

Whatever you get, and whatever else you do, make sure you set the bass to 1 oclock and the mids to 11 oclock. Treble to taste, but make sure it is between 10 and 2.

Make sure you only use a Fender Strat. You Cant Go Wrong With a Fender Strat.

For the feel, yes, no doubt, but for tone you’d be more specific. It’d better be a red Strat It’s common knowledge red strats sound the best.

I'm still Skeered of the dark a little bit so I keep my knight lite on next to my bed. I worry the Monster Cables will be too much for me too fast. I am trying to process all the Toan Infos but I am having a hard time with there being so much wonderful advice being given.

Long cables sound good to me because I could also have room from my bedroom to my moms basement and still play while I snack on Cheetos and Mountain Dew in between my gaming and hit making sessions. Thanks for the tip!

I will be sure to get the good ones. If I deduct my daily interest from my trust fund I can scrounge up $460 dollars per cable. Is that enough to at least get me out of pop rock territory and into at least classic rock? I understand if it is not enough for the Brutulz. We all have to start somewhere and I am willing to pay my dues. I aint no quitter!

Red might get me all worked up though. I like red nail polish on the wiminz on the posters I have hanging on my wall. I am not sure I am ready for a red guitar. Maybe someday?
