Re: American or British amp tone?

Gotta go with EL34 tones, the cleans from my plexi or my jubilee head are amazing with a strat and the overdrive tones just can't be beat!!!

I will say that Fender cleans are beautiful and have their place, as do
Mesas. I've just never been able to find that place on my "journey to tonal bliss"

Re: American or British amp tone?

I prefer blackface Fender amps with reverb with the tone stack modded to a pair of .02 mid and bass caps for more of a Marshall tone...and through Celestion speakers.

But secretly, Lew is in love with Webers.

I like some of Ted's 10's.

Don't love any of his 12's...to much cone cry and when he adds the edge surround dope to reduce cone cry, then they sound to dull.

But I use and really like Ted's P10RT and C10Q...although he has new numbers for them now.

Didn't realize that. My bad. :smack:

I thought you were all about the Celestion blues.

Celestions are my favorite 12's...no doubt about it. And the three I use are the G12H30, Vintage 30 and Alnico Blue.

But Weber makes my favorite 10's.
