Re: Amp Poll

I think that you may want to define what tone the amp will be used to achieve, or to specify that you mean best over-all. If that's the case, I would suggest the Mesa Boogie Mark IV as being best over-all.

Re: Amp Poll

for me its a close one between JCM 2000 and the rectifier. but i'll go for the JCM

Re: Amp Poll

Out of that list, I'll go with the Laney just because you can get a lot of cool tones out of it.
Laneys are pretty cool amps and they don't sound too bad.
They are a little more open ended as opposed to Mesas or Marshall--which are very one sided, one trick horses.

Rock.

Re: Amp Poll

I chose a Mesa Rectifier, but I specifically mean the Rectoverb. Great little 50-watter, though I use the term "little" VERY loosely.

I have to disagree here, there are several Mesa amps that you can get a great variety of tones out of.

Re: Amp Poll

Is there another poll that will include some good choices? :)

Soldano, Splawn, Voodoo, Rivera, VHT, Engl, Bogner ????

Re: Amp Poll

Out of those listed, I'd go with Mesa, but definately not with the Rectumfrier.

Blue Angels are nice, as are Mavericks. I've also been dying to try out the Lonestar sereis.

Re: Amp Poll

I agree with the sentiments about Mesa. Great amps, but the Rectifier is probably not the best choice from them. I like the more flexible ones like the Mark IV or Nomads.

Re: Amp Poll

Id gopher the JCM 2000 as I also have one,But i'd take the DSL's over the TSL's as they just have something the TSL's don't
