Quick question.


Will two 30W speakers handel a 50W amp ?

Wired in series yes ( 30W + 30 W = 60 W )

series or parallel, makes no difference, a watt is a watt
2 30 watt speakers should be plenty safe for a fifty watt amp, unless you run it wide open all the time, with a boosted front end, then the speakers might blow due to over-extention, but that can happen with any amp.
I use 2 Greenbacks (25 watts) with my 60 watt Marshall, and have for years w/o problems.

Great . . . sounds good to me.

Will not run the amp flat out, but deff at 60% (giging vol.) and i do not like to boost my amps, sounds too compressed for my liking.

Yes, but be careful...the rule of thumb is twice the speakers to handle a given amp...i.e. 100 watts of speaker for a 50 watt amp.

Marshall's older cabs will hold 100 watts...4x25w in one cab BUT the 100 watt marshalls were meant to be used with two cabs for a total of 200 watts speaker handling.

So 4 (four) 30watters in a 4X12 cab is alot 'safer' to be used with a 50W amp !

I really do NOT want to spend X-amount on imported drivers and blow them at the 1st gig.
But i also want some degree of speaker break-up.

You'll probbly be ok if you don't push the amp all the way up all the time.

Most speakers are under-rated to protect the mfg.
2 30 watt speakers will be fine for a 50 watt amp
