I've asked on a ton of threads and other forums about all the Phase 90 and Flanger sounds Eddie used, but What and how was the Begining of And the Cradle will Rock done?

I'm sure it was some kind of Keyboard ,but what ?

Re: And The Cradle Will Rock...

keyboards thru a cranked Marshall with flange reverb and delay.

Re: And The Cradle Will Rock...

A Wurlizter Piano to be precise, through a Marshall with said effeect..

You can recreate it pretty close on the guitar with alot of flange, some tweaking and a little ingenuity.

Re: And The Cradle Will Rock...

How would you even begin to do it though? I mean after tweaking the Flanger, what do you do on the guitar,? Pick Scrapes, or what?

Re: And The Cradle Will Rock...

yep, it works trust me. Start the pick back by the bridge and chop/slide it towards the neck in time with the song. I used to do it in a cover band years ago and everyone thought it sounded like the record. The sweep of the flange is the overpowering element that you hear on that intro, so it would theoretically work on just about anything you plugged into it.

But dont try it with some cheapo digital flange, use an ADA reissue or MXR Flange if you can find either.
