Most of what I think are my cool guitars involve some form of risk-taking and timing and chance. Ordering from Japan, by chance knowing that Ibanez Blazers from the early 1980ties are good (some of them). Making a decision in time to snipe a cool item while it's available (such as the Phat Staple).
Some variant of no pain no gain. I don't count the losses when this scheme goes wrong too accurately.

I approve of the results. that triumph bass looks amazing. Amber looks like such a fine guitar... but the strat... doesn't impress me. to each his own I guess.
