Which one of these does FX better? Delays, Verbs etc

Which one does classic to EVH style gain better, with touch sensitivity and reactiveness to volume knobs?

I don't like any of them. True, the GT-8 I think is much better. But honestly, I'd use other sites for rating them against each other. But I prefer my ME-50 to both of those :D :P If I wanted a synth multieffects, however, like for running through keyboard amps / PAs, I'd get the GT-8.

I had the XT and now have the GT-Pro. The Boss kills the XT in effects routing and amp tweakability, and the ability to have 2 amps at once, to use in stereo, or switch amps by how hard you pick. There is so much you can do with the GT though, it can get overbearing if you don't like to craft your tones.
The XT is great out of the box, and they second guess what most guitarists want. This can be good, or bad. The XT also has a good editor. The GT-8 doesnt come with one (the GT-Pro does, and its great).
Both amp modeling engines sound great, either high gain or low gain, although, more of the XT (esp high gain) amps sound 'same-y'.
Figure out what kind of guitarist you are, and how you like to work.
Line6 is more likely to come out with updates, and their manual is *way* better written. They also have a very involved user base. The Roland has some, but Line6 has a better support section on their website.

Lol my badd, I thought he meant like GT-8 versus POD XT. If it's GT Pro, that thing honestly is my dream pedal setup. You can get the 20-something-pedal MIDI footswitch for it. 'Nuff said lol

Well, he did, although the Pro's engine is identical, so it is essentially the same. With the Pro, you gain the ins/outs and the editor, and slightly better DACs, but thats it.

Yeah I meant 8 or Pro

I use the XT bc it seems in studio environments it works better. I think it's accurate overall. I still think A/B'd against a real mic'd amp, the mic'd tone has more rich sound and feel - but damn it can be a TON of work. I feel some of the PODs models are very good as far feel, tone, and ease of use.

I felt I have never examined the Boss stuff enough.

I have an SE70 from back in the day, and it's analog distortions sound REALLY good. Thru an amp it rivals a lot of my good pedals, yet what I slightly give up in tone versus sayyyy a Fulltone, I get tons more sounds and versatility/MIDI etc etc

+1

Sometimes people get the idea that the GT-PRO is much better, but it's basically what the name says - a GT-8 with a few extra pro-oriented options. Although the editor is useful for everyone, really. There are a couple of third party editors, but I haven't seen them in action.

I think that's a generalization. The GT-PRO, by the way, can use MIDI footswitches like the Roland FC-200 MIDI footswitch that has 13 stomp switches + vol/wah rocker on it (1-10, bank up and down, CTL pedal that's configurable for say solo on/off). That alone makes it more versatile and infinitely configurable than any other effects. Besides, 200 presets and 200 user patches. With that many, you can just find the 10 you like the most (since they all come with solo on/off) and you should, in theory, be totally good to go. I mean, I can truly say that I could use 7 to 10 per live set, with solo on/off capability, but I doubt I'd ever need more.

this is true, but the FC 200 is an absolutely limited controller for the GT-Pro (you can midi the GT8 too, if you need to). I'd recommend the FCB1010 midi controller (with the unofficial firmware) which is less than half the price of the Roland and can also control 5 midi channels, send 4 CCs, note on/off, control amp switching, and has 2 exp pedals. Really, it is the best midi pedal cheaper than the $800 Rocktron All Access.

Exactly. The GT-PRO is simply a slightly upgraded GT-8, and I don't believe that's a generalization. Even Boss says that somewhere. And also +1 to the FCB1010 - for its potential, it's a great price. When you add in the third-party firmware and editor, it's killer.

Really, it is the best midi pedal cheaper than the $800 Rocktron All Access.

Which in turn is the best midi board cheaper than the Axess FX-1 or Skrydstrup SC-1 :laugh2: Ah, the joys of high end gear. Need more cash.

Compared to this, the FC-200 is a toy :D
