Another RB Strat?

Have to say, I've been ignorant of what Fender is putting out on the market, but I'd think I would have seen this one mentioned.

Re: Another RB Strat?

Yeah..saw this sev weeks ago. Very cool.

Unlike previous models, this is just based on his original, and not the heavily modded versions of later years.

Re: Another RB Strat?

So it is just a 70s strat with a different neck shape? No scalloped neck? Ritchie has had many interviews where he stated how awful the 70s strats were, so he had to mod them heavily to make them work for him. This guitar seems to have none of those mods. Oh well, Fender will sell them anyway. I think his first signature Strat was much cooler (and more interesting...and cheaper).

Re: Another RB Strat?

The fender 70's strat is the same as that, and much cheaper.

He had a alot of issues with that original guitar. Tiny frets- so he scalloped the frets. Sloppy neck joint- so he epoxied the neck in. Poor pickups- so he went through numerous pickup changes. Ane the mysterious electronics his tech eventually put under the pickguard.

Gibson might as well issue a Blackmore ES-335 since that's what he started playing in Deep Purple before switching to Strats- after seeing Hendrix use one

Re: Another RB Strat?

I do like the 1st signature series. but the other - I might as well order a '68 reissue.
