Any 50watt G12Hs?

Are there any speakers that sound like a g12h, that can handle 50 (or more) watts?
I wanted it for a Peavey ValveKing 212 (see my other thread). The amp puts out 100 watts.
The other speaker in the 2x12 cab would be a V30.

Re: Any 50watt G12Hs?

Eminence Wizard is modeled after the Celestion g12H and handles 75 watts, I beleive.

Re: Any 50watt G12Hs?

You could go for the Emi Wizard like has been mentioned of you cold look into the Hellatone 60L...the 60L is a limited edition Celestion Vintage 30 with an encreased low end that has been put through the Hellatone break in treatment...Drop Dave at Avatar speakers an email and tell him what you are looking for and he'll help you out. He sells the Emi speakers as well as Celestion and Hellatone...

Re: Any 50watt G12Hs?

That hellatone looks well nice!
Too bad they don't ship internationally, I'm in the UK...
That's why I wanted celestions, because they are made over here, therefor quite a bit cheaper than eminence and other speakers

Re: Any 50watt G12Hs?

I didn't know they didn't ship across the pond!

Im sure you cold find a Celestion Vintage 30L over there somewhere or maybe on ebay or somethng???

Re: Any 50watt G12Hs?

See if Dave at Avatar has any on ebay. He puts things on there from time to time. I got a Hellatone 60 and love it. The ice pick people associate with the v30 is not there on mine. Great speaker.

Re: Any 50watt G12Hs?

I'd fear it since Celestion G12H's are hard enough to break in.

IF you are seeking this idea - check out SOUTHBAY AMPWORKS SCUMBACKS - they make 65 watt versions that I have played and can attest sound AMAZING!

Re: Any 50watt G12Hs?

Wow, the Scumback H75 sounds amazing! But $170, I guess you really pay for the sound.
If I had the money, I would use a M75 and a H75-LHDC. Although, youre probably right about breaking them in. I could probably hire a hall or something. :laugh2:

Re: Any 50watt G12Hs?

Do Southbay ampworks ship to the uk? or do they have any dealers that would?

Cheers Foeburner, I forgot about that site. I might give it a go, but they're mighty expensive compared to the american costs.
