Any FUZZ-fans among us ? (Voodoolab Superfuzz)

Re: Any FUZZ-fans among us ? (Voodoolab Superfuzz)

Anyone else know anything about the Fender Blender ?

I tried one a few months back and was woefully underwhelmed by it. Overall I got the impression that it's another take on an Octavia, but the Voodoo Protavia is a WAY hipper & much more "usable" pedal.

It sounds rather ideal while I kept mucking with the Blender to get something that wasn't too horrible, and when I did get something out of it that I liked...it kinda sounded like an imitation of the Proc. The blend was a little weird...I'm not sure I have an application for totally clean guitar with octave-up fuzz on top or "under" the clean tone.

Maybe if I had spent more time with it, but I recall giving it a good half-hour or 45 minutes before giving up all hope...

Who knows though, you might love it!?

I have an old Boss Hyper Fuzz. It is a really obliterating fuzz effect, so chords don't sound out with it. But with a low-output pickup, single-note lines sound awesome.

I have always wanted to hear one
What's it sound like? What does "obliterating" mean?

Have any samples? comparisons? The feel?

I love the Jordan "Bosstone" for the 70's. It was a fuzz that plugged into your guitar - not useful on a stratocaster. SO

I made a box for it that so that I can switch it on and off (True bypass), followed by a volume pedal and also have a parallel line out with a blending pot to balance the tone - All in the same Hammond brand aluminum enclosure.

Spray painted deep blue.

A lot of guitar players have asked where do you get that tone and substain from, but until today, I never told anyone.

I'm waiting on my Skreddy Mayo right now. I've also heard clips of some of the D*A*M pedals which sounded good, and I also like the ICBM as well.

Hugggeee fuzz fan here. I am currently running a NYC Big Muff and a Diamond Pedals Fireburst(which doubles as a distortion to) and also another fan of D*A*M pedals here. They make me drool on a regular basis.

EDIT: I am really gassing over a D*A*M Sonic Titan, not a fuzz. But still extremely badass.

i want one of those Diamond Fireburst pedals!!!!

I use Danoelectro FabTone pedals a fair bit. The full sized pedal. i own a couple of them

I have a Big Muff... Played it less then I expected... would probably sell it soon...

Re: Any FUZZ-fans among us ? (Voodoolab Superfuzz)

They are wicked man, mine sounds amazing and I am only running it through an old Silvertone twin twelve. Killer, killer pedals.

For sure... i saw a salesman give a store a sample bedal board to try from Diamond.... it had the OD, the Fireburst, the comp and the Delay on it.... they had it going into a clean channel of a traynor combo.... Dead silent operation and massive sounds!!!! For sure they are what i want!

I use a Pro Analog Power Driver, it's a modern day clone of the Colorsound Power Boost that Beck and Page used. Sweet pedal, gives my P90s a thick, smooth lead tone.

Any site that we can read more about said dirt-box ?

Re: Any FUZZ-fans among us ? (Voodoolab Superfuzz)

try jim dunlop fuzz face

. . . i tried one, and a hand-build clone !

They are too harsh for my needs - i need a more musical fuzz, where you can still here the notes w. a fuzz-like "undertone".

That is why the Voodoolab SUPERFUZZ got my att.

COOL!

I always wanted Bosstone...mostly because Adrain Belew got some insane sounds out of his!

Any love for the fulltone '69 here?

I have tried the Fulltoen 69 and to be honest while I thought it was a good pedal the Analog Man Sun Face sounded better to me...both are killer units for that early Fuz Face tone but IMO the Analog Man has the (very slight) upper hand.
