Any users of the Eric Clapton Crossroads Pedal?

Re: Any users of the Eric Clapton Crossroads Pedal?

I've never tried one, but I think it was discussed here last year and the concensus was that it wasn't all it was supposed to be (i.e. it stunk). Sorry. I was interested in it when it came out, too. It's too bad because I'm sure a lot of folks bought it based on the hype.

If you want, go to a store and check it out with you own guitar and a decent amp.

That always ends up being the solution, doesn't it? :smack:

Absolutely. If you leave it up to the store (GC, Sam Ash, whatever), they hook every pedal, processor, etc up to cheezy little amps and lousy guitars:smack:

Right. A cheap pedal will make a cheap amp sound pretty good at bedroom volumes!

I tried it, I wasn't impressed, didn't like it. They shoul've included his 80's/90's live Soldano tone.

The Hendrix pedal is great. The Clapton one I was dissappointed in

I guess I was on the other side but did not get it. I thought some of the settings with a DRRI were pretty good. But, not so good I wanted it.

the Scott Ian pedal seems to be pretty good too
But it seems that high gain sounds from digitech are great from my personal experience.
and the mid gain tones are not that good

I think the standing joke was... If it could recreate Clapton's Cream Era tone?... We would all chip in and buy him one.:laugh2:

Of course, he'd have to go back to an SG through a bluesbreaker....

Re: Any users of the Eric Clapton Crossroads Pedal?

These suggest that it is not worth the effort to try it out. Thanks, guys.
