Anybody else own an LP Firebrand?

As the thread title suggests...anybody else own one or have experience with one? According to Gibson they were only made in 1979-80. I've only ever seen one other. My avater is the one I've owned since ~1983.

I've searched for info but keep coming up with nothing. I'm guessing that only a few thousand might have been made as Gibson would not comment on how many were actually produced. (Typical)

(the fine tuners/bridge on mine are from an old RD Artist...you can seen 'em if you look really closely.)

It looks like the info I got from Gibson years back was in error...(Typical)

I guess mine is mahagony and not walnut...I always thought that was the case. And that "The Paul" and "LP Firebrand" are not two names for the same guitar.

As for the distressed finish...I gotta say that's true. Mine has tiny black speckles on it ...looks like it was applied with black paint on a toothbrush and then raked over with your thumb so it sprayed/spackled the body lightly.

It also has tiny dents in the body that look like the end of fret wire.

A few of you have inquiered about my avatar guitar..so this adds some info to the situation.
