Anybody used Dunlop 6000 frets?

Re: Anybody used Dunlop 6000 frets?

I have both.

6105's, at least the stainless ones on my Warmoth neck, are very pyramid shaped, and, at least to me, uncomfortable due to the sharpness of the crown. It does lead to better intonation though.

I have 6000 frets on my Malmsteen guitar with a scalloped fingerboard. I think new Charvels use 6000's. I like them the best- they're huge railroad ties, add sustain, and you can crown them any way you like.

Comparin 6105's to 6000's, there's not a big difference in height, but a huge different in their width. I feel stainless 6105's are like playing rows of razor blades.

Jackson and Charvel use something like this. I freakin' lovem! totally, totally smooth and scalloped feeling. I like them better than my tom anderson heavy frets.

For what it is worth, that is what I love about them. I have three necks so far that have been refretted with the Warmoth SS frets.

I have 6000's on my #1 Strat and 6105's on my Warmoth LP.

6000's are so big they almost feel scalloped. I can actually bend notes out of tune by pushing down hard enough on the fretboard. You definitely need a light touch, but that's good in a way. They are sweet to bend on, and I got a noticeable sustain improvement and fullness of tone after upgrading from stock.

6105's are big, but not overwhelmingly so like the 6000's. They feel large without feeling imposing on my fingers. The stainless steel feels nice and slippery too - I actually like it.

i have that size on my Charvel and one of my Jacksons... they are huge and feel great..... I bought some Dunlop 6000 wire last year and was thinking of adding it to my MIM strat but then i figured the MIM bridge would not adjust high enough so i past on it.... but i may stick that wire in a bashed up Epi LP for the hell of it
