Anyone else considering the YJM Fury strat set?

I have to admit, I've been curious to know how much I'd like the new Yngwie Malmsteen signature set, based solely on the fact that Yngwie is a traditionalist who's always plugged into Marshalls and plays lead guitar.

Giving him all his due respect, having Evan Skopp and him working on dialing in a noiseless set that matches his technique and rig sounds pretty interesting.

Anyone install a set yet? Anyone planning on buying them? Maybe I'll move some pickups I'm not using and try out the Fury set in my main strat for awhile.

Re: Anyone else considering the YJM Fury strat set?

I was 10 seconds too late to raise a bid on a Strat which I intended to use this set with. Had even checked with Wymore to make sure they were in stock.

I still plan to grab a set for a future acquisition. The set appeals to me more than the Stacks for some reason

I'm really intrigued by them too. I figure they should balance perfectly, and since they're noiseless and everything... they must be awesome.

Re: Anyone else considering the YJM Fury strat set?

I still didn't get whether they are supposed to be different from the other company's YJM/HS3 or something new.

I'd like to know more too
I like HS-3 in yjm strat (tried one from the early 90's with HS-3 in the neck and bridge)

If somebody could post some specs about fury
output in Kohms- bridge and neck?
is it enamel #42 wire - for the bridge and neck?
tone -compared to HS-3 and SSL-1
does yjm still use just the 250K volume pot with them (all tone pots disconnected?)
some nice youtube or soundclick clips

Re: Anyone else considering the YJM Fury strat set?

I just got a set in but don't have them installed yet.

Much like the DiMarzio set the neck/middle model has staggered poles and the bridge version has an HS-3 esque magnet pattern. When I get them in a Strat I'll post a review...I have a YJM/YJM/HS-3 equipped strat to test them against for comparision; I myself am curious to see how they are similar/different from the DiMarzio pickups.

Wymore's prices on them are great if you can still get them.

Re: Anyone else considering the YJM Fury strat set?

Somebody is obviously hiding the fury specs.. The question is why? Are they too close to HS-3, HS-4 specs or what's the big secret about them..
I'm looking forward to your review Farkus

I don't think anyone is hiding the specs, but come to think of it, we may not have posted them anywhere. I thought they were on the winter NAMM literature we were handing out. You'll have to wait a couple weeks until I return to the office to confirm, but from the document I checked it should be around 25.6k for the bridge, and 25.4k for the neck. I can't get you the resonant peak until I return.
