Re: Anyone ever seen this Epiphone?
That has got me laughing like hell.
That has got me laughing like hell.
Looking at the logo again, it looks like it ends with a capital E, so yeah, Epihon-E
However, the board looks nice in the pics, as does the body. Who knows, could be a sweet player.
You guys are all so wrong. I am pretty sure the Epiphone Custom Shop used that logo for a while.
It was done by the pawn shop to justify the $150 price tag.
That's a $60-ish no-brand import. Yes, you can see where the original logo was removed.
I know that Epiphone has made a S-style guitar with single-coils, but you really should go big when you buy a guitar. I've noticed that a general $250+ guitar that you see at say GC has better quallity in the build and pickups and can last longer than a cheaper guitar.
LMAO, I can't say I've ever seen that "Epiphone". I don't know what is more humorous: the "epiphone" or seeing that Guitar Hero controller in the guitar section at the pawn shop.
And yet, darker still is the thought that someone would question the legitimacy of a turd.

What desperate times are these when men stoop so low as to fake an Epiphone?
And yet, darker still is the thought that someone would question the legitimacy of a turd.
Truly, the end is nigh.
Did you ask the guy who bought it for the shop if he had recently taken a bowling ball to the skull?

There were several different headstock over the years, but none the shape of the OP. Most common seem to be Explore or Jackson style. Real one were made in the Samick factory. This link shows them and has good info

That is a great link. I've had it bookmarked since I scored my S-210 Batwing at the flea-market. One of the cool touches of this thing is that it came from the factory with "Gibson" engraved on the truss rod cover.

I had a Strat in the same color and a Tele in black–both of mine had the Hockey Stick headstock. I only paid like $200ish for the two of them...sold them for a gain for sure wish I had kept them as they were super comfortable to play and had a great tone (the Tele Pickups I believe were not original but the Strat was 100% original.)

Yeah. I've seen that too. I'm guessing it was so people could call it a Gibson Epiphone.![]()
Great link!
And I posted the picture as something funny–I honestly know it is not an Epiphone Strat headstock...just thought it was funny that someone would write out Epiphone in pencil lol If you are going to fake it why not go with Gibson rather than Epiphone. lol
