Anyone ever try a Peavey Roadmaster?

I'm referring to the mid-80's version, with 6 6L6's in the power section. I understand these do a good British OD and Fendery clean, but I've never tried one. I think Skynrd used these quite a bit too. I've read many good reviews on it, and it seems like the bad reviews would have been better if the amp didn't say Peavey. Looking at the specs and schematic for it, it looks like it would be hard for it NOT to be a good amp (the only solid state is in the channel switching LDR's). Maybe not as advanced as some modern amps, but it definately looks like it could hold it's own tone-wise!


Anyone have an opinion on them?

Loud, pretty grungy, did I mention LOUD ? Sonic Youth also used a bunch of these...they must be pretty dependable to keep up with those guys.
