I use mine all the time. I have one from the mid 70s, and one from the 90s. An Ebow, a volume pedal and a delay is a very fun day.
Is there a difference between the old and the new ones? It looks like the older ones can be picked up for cheaper.
Good God, man, I didn't know they were making them in the '70's (the chrome ones)The old ones are chrome, and don't have a switch. They are also slightly larger.

Those things are like ancient alien artifacts.
Both mine are black w/ switches.

It doesn't vibrate at all. The string does.
I'm not really into **** that vibrates in my hand, or anywhere else for that matter. You guys have issues
Have you ever used one? The eBow itself doesn't vibrate at all. It just sits on two surrounding strings and causes the third string in between to vibrate. That's it.
Mick Ronson is probably my all time favorite guitarist. He used one on "Heros" so yeah, I get what it does and it's appeal. I'm just not that interested in them. I have a Violin bow, no interest in using that a'la Jimmy Page. I'd probably be more inclined to use a Sustainiac system. I'm just not interested in holding anything but a pick. About as gimmicky as I get is a thumb pick. Only as it relates to playing the blues. It's great that you guys love them, but I'm surprised they are a thing.
