Anyone here running stereo guitar rigs? whether it be
2 amps 1 cab
2 amps 2 cabs
1 amp 2 cabs

I am currently running a 2 amp 1 cab scenario, until I can afford 2 more custom cabs.
I am running my signal chain as

Guitar > A/B-Y then line 1 goes out to my Solar Flare Overdrive into my JCM800 clone I built
line 2 goes out to my Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 18w with no fx

I've played around with them. It's super fun, but much too cumbersome for the size of venues I play (90-300)

I'd like to eventually have a setup with one amp going into a 412, and a second amp going into 2 vertical 212s on either side of the 412.

i used to do it a fair amount but its just too much crap to carry to gigs. i still do it sometimes for trio gigs, mostly cause the rotosphere sounds so much better with two amps.

it does sound great on stage but most places i play the sound guy gives me funny looks when i say i want both amps mic'd so i kinda assume they dont actually bother to mix both amps. assuming the club is even wired in stereo

I still do it sometimes for trio gigs, mostly cause the rotosphere sounds so much better with two amps.

Leslie simulators are my favorite pedal for splitting into a stereo signal. It's so awesome when one amp turns into a horn, and the other turns into a rotating speaker.

Delay going one direction gives a nice wet/dry sound. Chorus isn't a sound I use.

B covers clean, slightly gritty, to high with the metal muff

Good tones individually, great tones combined.

The idea is that I mixed two speakers that I love together, but have a big sensitivity difference. So I drive the less sensitive pair with one and the others with the second amp. This way I can volume balance and EQ them separately. A tiny bit of overkill.

I do, but with a small rig. I habe a custom 20 watt head, voiced like an Uberschall and a Jet City 20 watt head and 2 1x12 cabs. Split with an old Boss Super Chorus with very little effect level.

That's actually a really neat idea. I wonder if you'd get different results with a pair of 2x12 cabs.

I actually did a proof of concept with a pair of DSL combos, but I didn't try 2x12s. I really wanted the 4x12 angle cabinet X config so I could get the upward angled speaker mix when I'm not using mics. Well, I guess there are vertical 2x12s I could have tried.

Oh, as for actual stereo effects, I only run through the one cabinet, but I'm insane when I record. I usually use 5 mics on each guitar track. (My philosophy is that it's better to have more information when i capture a performance...rather throw something away than say "I wish I'd...") So anything I don't do with effects I do in the DAW. It's not true live stereo, but I think I have an amazing ability to shape and pan tracks.

Used to run a Carvin X amp half stack with a Randall RG 120 half stack using an old Alesis Quadraverb to split the signal from the pedals. It definitely filled a room.

I've done stereo as well as two amps with an A/B box, and it's just too much crap to carry. The other HUGE factor is that most smaller venues don't run stereo, so it's a waste of time and effort.
