Anyone Like Purple Guitars?

It didn't think that was a standard production model, quite rare indeed. It doesn't look too bad, but I would never buy a purple guitar.

This is going to sound idiotic, but the first thing that popped into my head when i clicked that link was "Why would Howard Dean sign a guitar?"

It's actually a pretty cool color.. kinda reminds me of a popsicle.

Awesome!!! My dream axe is a Carvin C66 with a purple stain quilted maple top and black hardware. Duncan Blues trembucker in the bridge and a 59b in the neck..

I wouldnt mind a Purple Jet either, but Ill have a better chance of affording a Carvin..

Funny. I was gonna post a thread about purple guitars.
It would have to be a great shade of purple and a certain guitar, before I'd jump into "Princedom." LOL

Get the green one, so we can call you Mr. Green Deans. LOL

If you're going to start calling me that, I'm backing out of the deal! :barf:

ive been keepin an eye ont eh green 1... im just a little leary of the ****ty pics of the damaged headstock

I've got a warlock that has a purple colour that's like that, but mine a flip flop finish, so you only get that colour at a certain angle, otherwise it's a bit lighter ...PRS had a few purples that were really nice looking, purple to me can be real classy if done right, especially if it shows the grain. Nice finish.

I like purple..i looked all around for a purple Ernie Ball, and gave up. I bought a blue one and then saw a bunch of purple ones for sale.
I like em with chrome hardware better. Gold hardware *always* wears off.

I agree they look gorgeous with gold hardware, but Id opt for black since the gold does wear off.. Its a shame..

I´m with Xerx, Purple and gold or black can look absolutely stunning. This axe is a good example

BTW: A Shrink once told me that "purple is the color of the unsatisfied woman". FWIW

Can't someone come up with a hardened clear laquer coating or something that won't (reasonably so) wear off for gold hardware.
It does tend to wear more so than the others.
Anyone ever try clear coating gold hardware? If so with what, and how as to the curing process?

Re: Anyone Like Purple Guitars?

I love the purple komet amp head colour scheme, but that guitar is just too "shiny purple" for my tastes. If it were a little less shiny then maybe yeah id dig it.

But cool guitar none the less ;)

I have'nt used this, but they have the best paints for resto and custom work...if it works on polished wheels, I'd think it would hold up well. :smoker:
