Anyone replaced a super switch on a Charvel HH or similar with a standard 3 way?

I have a Pro Mod Charvel SoCal with Wolfetone Legend (sweet A2 PAF voiced) pickups and in the middle position it combines only one coil from each pickup. Additionally, the coils it combines is dependent on the position of the push-pull switch. As it is, I don't really love the middle position with the inner or outer coils only.

Has anyone here replaced (or reconfigured) the super switch to allow both full pickups to be put in parallel, as is typically available with an HH setup?

I'm not concerned with the process itself, but rather the resulting outcome. I am asking because I am thinking of doing a Peter Green mag flip at the same time, or possibly just using the push-pull for wired out of phase. My guess is it will be way too weak with the current one-coil-per-pickup switch config.

I'd appreciate any thoughts / feedback on the idea of doing this, Thanks all!

im a fan of both buckers in parallel in the middle position. without independent volume controls, i would not want that position to be out of phase. thin, nasal, squawky, and not overly usable. now, with independent volumes... theres some cool tones to be had

Thanks Jeremy, I didn't consider that with master volume/tone. Hmm :(

I had a ProMod and hated the push-pull thing. I ripped it all out and put in two new pots and a 3-way tele switch. Much more usable that way, IMO. Highly recommended!

My DK24HH ProMod 5way does that but it uses the mini toggle to get there. Does the SoCal use the mini toggle with the superswitch?

No instead of a toggle, the volume knob is a push-pull.

jeremy I am inquiring with WD to see about customizing a pickguard with 3 controls so that I can do either independent volume and master tone, or master V, T and a blend pot. Any thoughts which might be more versatile for out of phase?

OK, I have sourced a pickguard. Attached pic mocks the new hole locations.

But a final important question? Stick with the 1 ply black or go with a black-cream-black 3 ply?

The mod is complete and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. I was originally going to keep the black barrel knobs, but they were too high, being so close to the bridge pickup and instead went with bell reflectors from Philadelphia Luthiers.

I used 500-525K CTS pots, for independent volume (thanks Jeremy) and master tone. The middle (bridge vol) control is the push-pull to the engage the OOP. I had to really take a lot of time measuring out and cutting the holes in the new black-cream-black pickguard to get even spacing and to keep the controls within the body cavity. Wiring up the push-pull also took a lot of time and was a challenge with my aging eyes.
