woahh....thats a bit extreme dont you think? im sure all he was talking about was the quality and cost of guitars, no need in saying he thinks the japanese are inferior in general. sure it was a bit ethnocentric, but not racist

I know. I wasn't doing this: :yell:

It was more like: :smack:

Artie is the man. I just see people doing that all the time without realizing it.

ethnocentrism!! ahh!! Without even realizing it you just referred to japanese products and japanese in general to being inferior to americans. They do it for the same reason Fender builds guitars in mexico, etc. etc. They probably say the same thing about us. Can you imagine how crappy they think our quality of instruments are after looking at a couple of Gibsons?

No offense intended. I know you didn't even realize it. I see people do this all the time.

No offense taken at all. ;) I meant it more tongue-in-cheek, but I can see how it may have come out wrong. You probably won't find too many people on this board who love the Japanese as much as I do. My collection of Japanese music probably outnumbers your metal. :laugh2:

Now the question . . . is liking a certain race, still rascist? :smack:

Evan, does that mean my 57RI isnt made by Ibeenhad? Oh, there is a God!
If it was made by Hostess, would it really make a difference? Apparently, you think it plays well and sounds good... who gives a sh*t who made it?

Re: Are most Japanese guitars all made in the same factory?

some anal dude somewhere will probably say that liking a certain race is racist, not surprising these days so i just learned to ignore these kinds of things.

Let's say i found a really well made american gibson at a guitar shop. I then picked up a decent yamaha in the neighborhood of the same price. Would i be racist in saying that the Gibson played better than the Yamaha? Knowing that somebody somewhere would probably take the time to fuss about an issue like this makes me pretty sick.

Let's get back to figuring out where our japanese axes are made shall we?

great point. I don't care if my american strat was made in timbuktu, it plays fine and sounds amazing and I believe i got my money's worth.

If it was made by Hostess, I wouldnt have a guitar anymore, that's all I can say :laugh2:

Naw, it was just a joke. I dont know why, but I have this thing against most Ibanez's (Although I really like the Jet King and the Jet King II). I guess it's just what they're usually used for and the necks. God I hate the necks. It's like playing a toothpick.

A guitar with cream filling, now there's an idea!

Lighten up guys, neither Artie nor I were being serious, take it easy.

Re: Are most Japanese guitars all made in the same factory?

There's an awesome japanese brand of guitars that supposely is really really good. I need to try out a japanese guitar. As for the question/point of this thread, I don't think most Japanese guitars are build in the same factory.
