Are you a Vintage 30 person?

Not really. I prefer a warmer sounding speaker. Maybe mixed with other speakers it could work. For instance, pairing them up with some Creamback's. But, V30's on their own are not for me.

I've heard that the Randall Jaguars were based on the Vintage 30. If that's the case then yes, I like them. Especially paired with something bright like a 70/80.
Really though, one of my favorite 4x12's has 12M-70's in it.

Of course this whole thread has me wondering what people prefer insofar as impedance? 16, 8, 4 ? And why.

I tend to like 16 for guitar, though I do have an 8ohm 2x12 cab that I really like. For bass, it's 8 or 4.

most of my amps are designed for 8 ohms, though my tw express clone has the 16/8/4 switch

I don't like V30...I feel they have a mid Honk that I find annoying.
I'm team G12-65.....I used to use greenbacks but find the RI ones to bright and presensy. G12H-30 have nice tone but i think those H speakers are to loud and shouty spounding imo

I didn't realize it 'til earlier today, but I guess I'm a Vintage V30 guy too. That's what's stock in my Line 6 / Bogner Spider Valve 112.

I think Line 6 has come a long way from the early POD days. And I can plug my Twin Tube Classic straight into the Bogner amp section, and have a twin channel, all tube amp.
