Yeah, you're right, Mike. I know I'll probably get requests for a clip so I may cut one in the next couple days. Clean or overdriven amp, it sounds great.

If you haven't ordered a new inductor and/or pot for your wah, do it now. Get 'em from Area 51. Holy auto censor these are great parts. The pot is very smooth, nice taper to it. HUGE improvement there.

The inductor made the biggest difference (obviously). The wah went from sounding really good after I modded it a few years back to sounding really great. I knew I had to change the inductor to get it where I wanted it but never got a replacement until now. I am very pleased with the Area 51 inductor.

It's total "Voodoo Chile" heel to toe. The heel-down position has that nice low growl to it but it's not muddy or too dark. The toe-down position cuts through nicely without being harsh at all. Rock it back and forth and it's 70's funk. It's like a different wah altogether. Can't wait to use it at band practice this weekend.

When I had the thing open last night I was trying to remember all I did to it before and aside from true bypass, I think the only mods I did were the voice mod (33k to 68k) and the mid boost mod (1.5k to 2.2k). I had added in the missing caps that would make it a JH-1 at one point but took them out shortly thereafter. Apparently now, the only difference between a modern GCB-95 and a modern JH-1 is one cap, not two.

I just gutted my modified Vox V847 and Installed the Area 51 Circuit board and Icar pot, I already converted it to True bypass and added a dc jack. The area 51 circuit really sounds nice it's sounds fatter and has a nice smooth vocal sweep to it. A friend of mine let me borrow his 67 Vox clyde McCoy to compare and i have to say I like the Area 51 better the tone was very similar to the Vox but the sweep is more pronounced on the Area 51, just to compare the Vox uses a 33K in parallel to the Inductor and the Area 51 uses a 47K so that would explain why the Area 51 has a wider sweep.

Anyway Area 51 is definitely worth checking into for there parts or completely upgrading your wah!
