Same as any other tube amp I would think. Charlotte Hatherley of Ash has just switched to them. Ashdown have a good rep, I tried a Peacemaker combo, sounded impressive and I've heard good reports on the Fallen Angel.

They were supposedly marketed at the "N-Metal" camp. They can handle that tone and more I'll wager!

Before you, buy check out the reliability reports on Harmony Central. A lot of the reviewers don't really have a clue on that site, but the reliability reports are usually dead on. I really like the Peacmaker series of Ashdown's , but I passed up a great deal on one because of the reliability issues mentioned on HC. They seem to be having the same stuff happen on the FA series, and the factory is a long way away.

I got told the same story by a sales rep, but wasn't sure to believe him or not because his shop didn't stock Ashdown. I thought he was only saying that to push me towards one of their amps instead... I've never actually found a local shop that stocks one for me to try out so I can't really help tone wise either...

Bear in mind that there is a new series of ashdowns Fallen Angels coming out v soon that has built in effects. I dont think this series will cost any more than the original, so you might be better off waiting, unless you can get an amazing deal on the originals. THe new ones will have the same all tube pre and power amp cicuits, but with digital effects. here is a link: http://www.ashdownmusic.co.uk/guitar/index.asp

one of the shops has them stock and i wanted to try them but got no time then. they arent THAT pricy either (at least the 40W FA combo)
about the built in effects.. that cant be a good thing. i seriously dont like amps with built in multieffects. if there are such reliabilty issues they should be working on them and not adding features that the amp doesnt really need
