Oh man~! GAS attack! I'm going to build myself a Rangemaster clone when I have the $$$ now. How did you go about putting on the text/decal? That is just so awesome, and so cheap!

i have a question...

what if you put a switch (dpdt) to select what capacitor to occupy that slot. Like a "stock" mode and a "mod" mode. Would that have any effect on the other components if it were switched on the fly? Basically for switching the voice for different parts of the song.

I had the same idea.

Mike, I'm glad someone built somethign from there, because I was serioously considering dropping a ton of cash for their rangemaster, tube screamer, and phase 90 clones.

Man, you love that independant cross dont you? it's on everything you've got haha :laugh2:

it seems like it would work. I'm just worried that it would have an affect on the rest of the circuit. I'd hate to blow a cap in the middle of a song or something. What would really be cool is to add another footswitch to handle this. like hitting the vintage mode for a solo (with the mid boost). hey, it's just a thought.

i'm honestly not sure about the switch b/t each cap...you'd have to ask someone like stratdeluxer about that since he knows pedals much better than me....i just follow directions and solder lol.

oh and joe...the iron cross has nothing to do with the skate company (for me) it has now become a symbol used by hot rod and chopper guys for the most part (which i am!!). i also look at it with it's origional meaning which was that it was given to people no matter what there social class or nationality for acts of heroism, bravery and leadership skills. most people foolishly think Hitler when they see it but they are...well, just narrow minded uneducated people lol. If an iron cross has a swastika in the center then yeah, it's a Nazi symbol and not a good thing. however without it, the iron cross has held many good meanings during wars and is now as i mentioned been adopted by the hot rod/chopper culture as a symbol of freedom and courage. there you have iron cross 101 lol.

Yeah, I couldnt remember the correct name for it because I was having a brain fart (you know, when you know something but cant remember from repeated blows to the head and/or getting too pumped up on stage). All I could remember was that independant mooched it.

I'm debating between buying the rangemaster kit or the phase 90 kit first...

i know what you mean lol...i just hate when peope think it's nazi related (i know you didn't think that)...so i figure why not give people iron cross class 101 lol.

as for which to build...i hear the phaser is good (another forum member has one painted evh black and yellow style) and since i have an evh phase 90 myself i'm actually considering the rangemaster...these things are fun to build!!

Yeah, and the rangemaster is said to be the easiest build... hmmm... I wonder if they take paypal so I can order it right now while at work haha

oh one more thing... are the caps they include in the package high quality? I wonder how upgrading them to orange drops would sound?

sweet!! if you want to change LED color you need a 5mm led FYI. i got mine from http://www.smallbearelec.com/StoreFront.bok they also sell other stuff like knobs and things that may make the project even more custom if you wanted. my purple led for the primal scream should be here soon to finish it off!!

Beautiful Mike! Thanks. I just ordered the Rangemaster clone, and I'll post a review of it as soon as I get it completed. Opted to have it shipped Priority Mail to keep the cost under 70 bucks.

By the way, thanks for the LED link, was actually going to ask you about that as well. I just got to think of a name for it... the talent booster in the gallery sounds like a good idea haha
