Talk to me about avatar cabs. The one I'm looking at in particular is the 2x12 closed-back, celestion Vintage 30 cab (the special?).

anyone have much experience with them?

I have the same cab! I've had mine for 3 years now and it has not let me down. They are really solid cabs and you can't beat the price. Their customer service rocks too!

I've had nothing but positive experiences with Avatar. I've owned 3 of their cabs (currently have 2 - one loaded with v30/h30 and one with hellatones) and all of them have been rock solid. Had an issue once and it was resolved the next day. Superior vendor for sure.

I've played a few and they're decent cabs, but you owe yourself to check out Ear Candy. I used to swear by a vintage Marshall 4x12 which I 've recently retired in favor of an EC Buzz Bomb 2x12. All the tone of the 4x12 with 1/2 the weight.

I have a closed-back 2x12 with Eminence speakers. I really like the sound and build-quality of this cab - and the looks.

www.geezersoundco.com ... he sells them loaded ... I got a 2x10 off ebay ... pretty nice.

Awesome cabs. I have the vintage style with 2 Celestion V30's. It's unfortunately going to be sold since I don't have a head for it anymore...

i have 2 closed back 2x12 cabs ..... ceramics - 1 w/ silver bells and 1 w/ 1230-55's

and 2 open back 2x12 cabs ..... alnicos - 1 w/ silver bells and 1 w/ blue dogs

imho they sound great

avatar does supply them with cheap jacks and thin wire with removable tabs ...... i replace that crap with switchcraft 11's and 16 ga lamp cord soldered to the speakers
