What's a good thread or forum to find out some research on a B.C.RICH warlock??? I picked one up and need some info on it. Its a basket case but the only info I have on it is the neckplate. It says " B.C.RICH tm 29376" any info would be very helpful, or if you know of a site I can go to would be great also!!!! Thank you

Re: B.c.rich

If it has a neck plate I am guessing it might be a NJ series. They are not bad guitars if setup right. Some pics of the guitar would go a long was to helping you out with your questions.

Re: B.c.rich

Its in peices., debating on buying it for my next project. Not looking for a pile of crap tho!! It has the pointy headstock and black and white crackle paint. Just didnt know if the neckplate could shed some light on what it is. It dosent say N.J. on it, just B.C.RICH tm yhena a block under it with 29376 stamped into it. I tried fishing around thru some forums but couldn't find much on it

Re: B.c.rich

There's no better forum than this one out there 😉
But having a neck plate does make it seem like a NJ series, and if the pieces aren't In bad shape, and the price is good for you, I don't see why it couldn't make a good project

Re: B.c.rich

Photos of all the pieces and parts could tell much more than the stupid neck plate.

If you can get photos of the back specifically the routing for the controls... then the front with the knob arrangement and the headstock I can give you a decent probability of what it is. Over the years and different series there are slight differences in the body shapes of warlocks.

Re: B.c.rich

Im having problems getting the pics off of Craig's list, it's irritating me bad. All I can say is that its the basic warlock shape, three knobs and a switch. Floyd rose setup and the pointy headstock that comes to a single point. I was just trying to get any info on it to see if its even worth the effort of the rebuild. I appreciate the comments. I might just keep looking!!! Lol

Re: B.c.rich

What about the Platinum series? Didn't they have plates?

You are correct sir.

You can just post a link to the CL ad. If the price is right you can make a pretty nice project guitar out of it. I had a NJ Series Mockingbird that I used as a backup years ago. The thing sounded so good and played so nice I started working more and more into the set. I am not sure if this project comes with pickups , if it does you might want to consider replacing them. I replaced the original pickup on my NJ with a Bill Lawrence 500XL. My current B. C. Rich I replace the pickups with a Fralin Metal SHO set. Outside of that they have great necks, sound nice and look cool as hell.

Re: B.c.rich

I ' m having the same problem with my nj series st111! Can't find What year it was made, just not enough info on the net. The bridge humbucker sounded Really bad. I ended up replacing it with a Seymour Duncan Invader pup. But damn the year of manufacture sure would be nice to know!!

Re: B.c.rich

If it was a mockingbird I would have been all over it!!!! Its tge basic 80's-90's warlocks thats confusing. They all look the same but one can be wotrh a dollar and the one next to it, that looks the same can be a diamond in the rough!!! To many series!!!! Whats the best????

Re: B.c.rich

You can email bc rich the serial number and they might be able to tell you the exact year, but their record keeping back in the day wasn't so good. Basically what they did was grab random neck plates out of a bin, so we can tell you an approximate year based on the serial number, but unless b c rich has records of these guitars after assembly there is no way to know for sure the exact year.

Waste of time. Ive emailed them a dozen times over the last few years asking for serial number help and the best I have ever gotten from them is "this series was made from xxxx date to xxxx date, a couple times they said "let us research and get back to you" only to never hear again and most emails were ignored.

The random serial number plates only applies to the US made BC richs' and even then only after they moved the US shop. The ones before have the serial number stamped on the headstock.

The ones particularly from the class axe era are undatable beyond the model features.
